French architects have a way with concrete and Terminal 2, with its five halls, is the modern face of Charles de Gaulle Airport. Four of the halls, A, B, C and D mirror one other and, while they work reasonably well, check-in areas do become busy at peak times. The designers have thought long and narrow, rather than short and wide and the space available could prove to be a problem as the airport continues its buoyant growth.
The newest addition is Hall 2F which handles mostly Air France flights and has a Maxim's restaurant to emphasize the point. It is located away from the other halls, beyond the TGV rail station, but is linked to them by moving walkways. This newest facility maintains the design principles of the other halls but is much larger and has a separate arrivals level.
