Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 3 Introduction

Is that Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart standing by the departure gates? And does that gendarme have a passing resemblance to Claude Rains? Well, perhaps not. But it is that sort of terminal.

Terminal 3 (renamed from Terminal T9) is a converted hangar tucked in a quiet corner of the airport and redolent of a bygone era. It is not primitive. All the basic facilities are here in limited quantities - catering, shops, duty free plus ample seating for its charter flight clientele.

It has its own car park in front of the terminal although the nearest airport shuttle bus is a healthy distance away through an unromantic underpass.

The terminal is basically a large open space and those with no feel for the past might see it as spartan. But that information board with its messages scrawled in marker pen... what other international gateway could give you that! Could there be one for Rick from Casablanca?
