Gatwick Airport is off junction 9 of the M23 motorway. The North Terminal is beyond the South Terminal on the access road and is signposted. Drivers should turn left at the second traffic roundabout for the North Terminal.
• The Short Term car park is signposted. Access to the terminal is across the forecourt.
• The Long Term car park is some distance from the terminal, allow 15 minutes for transfer. Courtesy buses deposit passengers on the ground level. Use the lifts to reach Departures.
• The drop off point on Level 2 Departures has access straight into the check-in area.

Check-In Level

The shuttle service from the South Terminal and rail station arrives on the mid-level mezzanine floor. The Departures/check-in concourse is upstairs, Arrivals down one floor.
• The check-in level is split into six zones A - F. Overhead TV monitors at the entry doors guide you to the zone and check-in desks for each airline. The zones are marked by overhead signs and are visible from entry points. Zone A starts at the left of the check-in hall.
• Zone A / B is used by Gatwick Handling for A2000, Brit Air and Delta.
• Zones C - F is for British Airways and other airlines.
• The Domestic Departure gate is in Zone A, International through security at far side of building opposite Zones C / D.
• There are lifts, stairs and escalators down to other floors.

Airlines at the North Terminal.

Luggage Trolleys: Plentiful and free. Not immediately obvious, they are available just inside the terminal entry doors in the 'atrium'. Trolleys can sometimes be found in the Short Term car park but it tends to be pot luck.

Toilets: At each end of the check-in area, between Zones A / B and E / F. Both have disabled facilities and showers, but baby care facilities appear to be in the womens toilet only.

Pay Phones: Located throughout the check-in area, but generally available near the escalators. Coin, phonecard and credit cards accepted.

Currency: Two Bureaux de Change. Thomas Cook, open 24 hours, and TTT, open 05:45-22:30, are located on each side of the door to the International Departures security area.

Cash Dispensers: No ATMs on Departures level. Nearest downstairs on mezzanine floor - Barclays, Midland and Nationwide Link provide facilities for most cards.

Information Desk: No desk in Departures, the main desk is in the Arrivals area.

Smoking Area: In middle of floor.

Postal Services: Mail box and stamp machine near the door to International Departures opposite TTT Bureau de Change.

Left Luggage: Beside the terminal entry door between Zones D / E. Open 06:00 - 22:00, £2.50 per item up to 12 hours, £3 per 24 hours.

Restaurants and Bars: Downstairs on mezzanine level in The Avenue.

Shopping: There is a news shop / bookstore, other services on mezzanine floor.

The terminal is reasonably friendly to disabled people and those needing special assistance with ramps, wider access and other facilities available.

The mezzanine floor between Departures and Arrivals contains the catering and shopping outlets.

Toilets: On the left side of the mezzanine level (behind the escalator to Departures level).

Pay Phones: Available in various areas. There are more on the Departures level.

Currency: Travelex in the shopping mall and Thomas Cook opposite the exits to short term car parks, both open 24 hours.

Cash Dispensers: Three ATMs near Thomas Cook and the smoking area - Barclays, Midland and Nationwide Link cater for most international cards.

Smoking Area: Large smoking area in middle of floor near WH Smith outlet.

Postal Services: Mail box and stamp machine available on each level.

Restaurants and Bars: A selection of food outlets.

Shopping: The Avenue shopping mall has a comprehensive range of outlets.
