London Stansted Airport is on the M11 motorway at Junction 8. It has one terminal serving both International and Domestic flights. Departure and Arrival services are on the same level in the main terminal concourse. There is a central shopping and catering area. Boarding gates are in satellite buildings.
The check-in islands are opposite and to the left of the main entrance to the terminal. Flight and check-in information is displayed at the entrance to each check-in area. There are no flight announcements in the terminal.
Luggage Trolleys: Free of charge on the terminal forecourt, inside the terminal and in the Short Stay car park and rail station.
Toilets: One in Departures area (towards the domestic arrivals door) with disabled and baby care facilities, two in the 'Food Court' - one each side.
Pay phones: Throughout the terminal. Fax facilities near the Information desk in International Arrivals area.
Currency: Two Bureaux de Change - Thomas Cook (open 24 hours) near access to Departure gates, ICE opposite the car rental desks in middle of building.
ATMs: Barclays, Midland and Woolwich machines near the ICE Bureau de Change provide facilities for most cards.
Information Desk: None in Departures area. Main desk located in International Arrivals area at extreme right of terminal. Information also available in International Departures lounge when you have cleared security.
Smoking Area: Stansted seems to provide more smoking areas than most airports - signposted in all areas.
Postal Services: Mail box and stamp machine near UK flight arrivals exit. Mail box also in International Arrivals concourse. No Post Office.
Left Luggage: The left luggage desk is close to the main airport entrance next to the ICE Bureau de Change and the Cash Machines. Charges: GBP£2 per item up to 12 hours; GBP£3 per item over 12 hours.
Food and Drink: Meals, snacks, coffee and drinks available in central mall with direct access from check-in areas.
Shopping at Stansted is limited in comparison to other airports.
Wheelchair assistance desk is shared with left luggage next to the ICE Bureau de Change and cash machines near the main terminal entrance.
Stansted is friendly to people with disabilities. Dedicated bays in both car parks for disabled badge holders: In the Short Stay they are near the terminal entrances, in the Long Stay they are close to the bus pick-up points.
Information phones are located in both car parks, and airport buses are fitted with wheelchair lifts and tracking. Phones with induction loops are located in the International Departures lounge.
There is a reserved seating area in the check-in area near Butler's Bar.

The Travel Centre is located by the main airport entrance.
Entertainment
Air Fun Base in the shopping area provides video games machines aplenty.
Chapel
There is an inter-denominational prayer room beside the toilets in the domestic arrivals area.
