London Stansted Airport Airside Facilities



Main Departures Lounge
    Domestic and international passengers use the same access throgh security and share the same departure lounge. Domestic passengers are allowed to buy tax free goods, but not duty free alcohol or tobacco. Passengers traveling to European Union destinations can no longer purchase duty free goods.

    The airide lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and views of the airport. Boarding gates are in satellite buildings which are reached by transit train. International passengers depart from Satellite One and Satellite Two upper level. Domestic passengers depart from Satellite Two lower level.

Toilets: One on left of lounge, one next to food court. Disabled facilities at toilet in lounge with adjacent Baby Care room. Showers are located in the lounge, free of charge.
Pay phones: In shopping area and next to Information Desk. Induction loop phones near Duty Free shop. Fax next to the Info desk.
Currency: Thomas Cook Bureau de Change (open first flight to last) on left of lounge after clearing security and passport control.
Information Desk: Top end of lounge. Fax and photocopying nearby.
Smoking Area: Smoking is allowed in seated areas of lounges and catering outlets.
Postal Services: None airside.
The 'Food Court' located at the head of the lounge has a restaurant and bar.

    Unsupervised but parents can keep an eye on young fliers while relaxing near the catering area. Age limits: 3 to 6 year olds.

    Instant pictures, near the food court.

VAT Desk
    UK tax enquiries and VAT refund desk immediately on left after security clearance.

Allow at least 15 minutes to transfer from the Airside lounge to Satellite departure gates via the transfer train. There are no flight announcements in the terminal so check times on overhead information screens.





Satellite One - International Departures
    (Gates 1 to 17)

    Transfer to Satellite One for International Departure Gates is by the airport transit system. Access to the transit is from the main Airside Departure lounge. Journey time approx 3-4 minutes.
    The transit arrives in Satellite One on the lower level, lifts and escalators connect with the Departure Gates on the upper level. Comfortable and adequate seating at each Departure Gate.

Toilets: One close to lifts/elevators and escalators with disabled provision, convenient for Gates 1 to 7. A second facility with disabled access is located on the lower mezzanine floor. There are toilets without disabled facilities near Gates 11 to 17. A baby care room is located near Gate 14 next to the toilets.
Pay phones: Pay phones are available at each end of the Satellite.

Airline Lounges
    Lounges for premium class passengers are operated by Lufthansa, SAS and Servisair.

    BAA has a pay facility 'The Lounge' with a full range of business aids, including internet access, e-mail, fax and credit card phones. Smoking is not allowed and children under 14 must be accompanied. Open 05.30 to 21.30 daily. The lounge can be pre-booked. Phone 0800 844 844.

Satellite Two - Domestic Departures - Lower Level
    (Gates 81 to 88)

Toilets: With disabled access in corridor to Gates 81 and 83.
Pay phones: Available throughout satellite.
Café bar only.

    A KLM lounge is available for premium fare passengers.





Satellite Two - International Departures - Upper Level
    (Gates 29 to 38)

    Lifts/elevators, escalators and stairs connect the transit train arrival point with the satellite lounge. There is a Special Needs Reception situated on left of lounge near Gates 33/34. KLMuk has a Customer Service Desk on the left of the lounge.

Toilets: With disabled access in middle of lounge. A baby change room is located on the right of lounge towards Gates 37/38.
Pay phones: Pay phones available in the satellite lounge.
Snack bar and drinks.

Arrivals
    International passengers arrive at Satellite One or Satellite Two. Map of Satellite One, Map of Satellite Two. Transfer to the main terminal is by rail transit system. Baggage Reclaim is in the main terminal after leaving transit train.
