By Car

Atlanta Airport is ten miles south of downtown Atlanta off Interstate I-85.

There are three major highways serving the airport. The I-285 runs east-west and is to the south of the airport, the I-75 and I-85 run north-south with the I-75 to the east of the airport and the I-85 to the west. The airport exit is clearly marked from all directions.

Journey time from downtown Atlanta 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

Train

Trains run to the airport from downtown Atlanta between approximately 05:00 and 01:30 (5am to 1.30am) weekdays and from 05:30 to 01:00 (5.30am to 1am) weekends. Departures are every 4-5 minutes weekdays and 10-15 minutes on weekends.

Journey time from downtown (Five Points) around 15 minutes.

  The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) provides rail services on two lines. The north-south line runs from Doraville and Dunwoody in the north to Hartsfield through downtown. The east-west line runs from Hightower in the west to Indian Creek east of the city. The two lines intersect at Five Points station in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

• The MARTA station at Hartsfield is located right at the terminal building and is a two minute walk to both Terminal North and Terminal South.
