CalTrain provides a regular weekday train service from Downtown San Francisco to Millbrae station for transfer to the airport.
The service departs Downtown San Francisco from the 4th & King Street Terminus. First service is at 5 am with departures approximately every half hour from 6 am until 8 pm, then hourly until 10 pm, with the last service at 11.59.
Journey time to Millbrae is about 25 minutes.
Fare: $2.25.
At Millbrae station pick up the free shuttle bus for transfer to the airport.

The free transfer bus departs the Millbrae CalTrain station a few minutes after each train's scheduled arrival time.
The shuttle stops on the lower (Arrivals) level of the terminals.
San Francisco and Millbrae stations both have disabled access. The shuttle transfer is also wheelchair accessible.
